2024-25 Fantasy Basketball MVP

The NBA regular season has finally come to an end, and with that comes all the discussion about the awards. "Shai should win MVP!" "No Jokić should!" and whatnot. This article is not to talk about the NBA awards for this season, but furthermore the Fantasy Awards. We will do the MVP, Most Slept on Player, and Biggest Bust of the season all in a three article series. So, let's get right into why Nikola Jokić is your fantasy basketball most valuable player.
This season, Jokić averaged 29.6/12.7/10.2, making history with averaging a triple double and being just the third ever player to do so. Jokić was unstoppable this season with shooting an incredible 41.3% from three while also attempting around five a game. Jokić has really taken a step up from last season, which is hard to believe since he won the MVP last season. Him taking his three point shot to another level is really the nail in the coffin, with him just being a maestro at everything else.
On the fantasy spectrum of things, Jokić wasn't even comparable. He was the top center by over 1500 fantasy points, which is just insane. The positional value that he possesses over every other center is so mind-blowing that it's difficult to comprehend. Jokić is the perfect fantasy baseball player, as his only weakness is his defense, and that doesn't get measured in fantasy basketball. He is statistically one of the greatest offensive players of all time, and he is playing right now in our generation.
Overall, Nikola Jokić wins the fantasy basketball MVP by a landslide. Now, does this mean that he will win the MVP? Not particularly, especially since there are other factors such as voter fatigue and they look at team success as well as Jokić's lack of defensive presence. I don't know how the MVP voting will play out, but my pick will be Nikola Jokić.
