Do Not Draft These 3 Players in Fantasy Football

07/10/2025

Just recently, we uploaded an article titled {Three League Winners to Draft this Season}. In that article, we broke down three players that we think if you draft them, will win you your fantasy league in this upcoming season. This article is exactly the opposite. We are going through three players that you should 100% NOT draft this season, because if you do they will lose you your league. We will try to do one tight end, one wide receiver, and one running back so you have a basis for all of them. So, let's get right into it and have some fun today.

Travis Hunter is the first player that we advise you to pass on in this years draft. He is going as the 31st WR off the draft board in these early mock drafts, which we think is just way too high for him. He is also the biggest question in all of fantasy football at the moment, with concerns about him playing both sides of the ball keep showing up. The truth is, we just don't know how it will affect him this season. There is no precedent for Travis Hunter since the turn of the century, and questions will just keep firing. Because of how high he is going and what is still up in the air about him, we suggest that you pass on Travis Hunter this season.

De'Von Achane is the second player that you shouldn't draft this year. When the Dolphins quarterback, Tua Tagovailoa got injured last season, Achane's fantasy production skyrocketed because the Dolphins backups were just dumping the ball off the Achane for short passes and screens, causing to him to get a ton of receptions and PPR points. Now with Tua back, the Dolphins pass-heavy offense will be back and that means less runs and screens for Achane. Now, he will still put up good stats this season, but nowhere near the RB5 that he is being drafted as.

The final player that you shouldn't draft this season is Evan Engram. When looking at his stats, it makes zero sense why he is going as high as the TE7 in mock drafts this season. Last season he got hurt and missed eight games, but the games that he did play he put up zero production. He averaged a measly 4.7 points per game and really didn't bring anything to the table with the Jaguars. Now that he is on the Broncos, expect more of the same from Evan Engram, which is why you shouldn't draft him this season in fantasy football.
