Stanley Cup Predictions: How will the rest of the series go?

06/08/2025

So, today we are going to switch it up a little bit and talk about a sport that barely gets mentioned across the sports world, and that is hockey. In case you didn't know, the Stanley Cup is currently going on right now, and they are two games in. The two teams playing in this year's Stanley Cup are the Edmonton Oilers and the Florida Panthers. Today, we are going to be breaking down the last two games of the series, as well as what to look forward to for the rest of the series.

So far, the Stanley Cup has been electric, and some of the best hockey I've ever watched. The series is tied 1-1 as of right now, and the Oilers won Game One in a overtime, in which Leon Draisaitl scored two goals as well as the game-winning goal in overtime. After a great start to the series, the Oilers looked to continue the streak in Game Two with a 3-2 lead heading into the second period. Then after a couple of back and forth goals in the second and third periods, they headed into another overtime game. This one didn't end nearly as quick as the last one though, as the Panthers ended up winning on a goal from Brad Marchand towards the end of the second overtime.

With two straight overtime thrillers between these two teams, one could only imagine how good this series will end up being. Game Three will start tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern Time, and will most likely be another great game to add to this series. Heading back now to Florida, we have the Panthers winning this game at home, with the final score being around 4-3. Expect Sam Bennett to score another goal for the Panthers, as he leads the entire NHL in postseason goals with 19.

For our series predictions, we have the Oilers winning in seven games. Their starpower with Draisaitl and also Connor McDavid will end up being too much for the Panthers, but not before they put up a good fight. But this entire postseason, McDavid and Draisaitl have proved to be just ahead of the rest of the pack, as they are top two in points scored by a wide margin. McDavid has 31 points, Draisaitl has 29, and the player in third, Mikko Rantanen, only has 22 points scored. McDavid will finally get the ring he deserves so much, and we also predict that he will earn the Conn Smythe Trophy.
