Waiver Wire Pickups: Fantasy Baseball Edition- Week of 4/18

Spencer Torkelson- 1B (52.7%)
Spencer Torkelson of the Tigers has silently been one of the best first basemen in baseball this season. He's currently the sixth rated first basemen, and is playing lights out right now. He is batting .286/.381/.629 with 20 hits, six home runs, 16 RBIs and six doubles. His rostered percentage has risen over 30% in the past two weeks and 17.7% just last week alone, but still he is only available in about half of leagues, so be quick to pick him up.
Tyler Mahle- SP (25.8%)
Mahle is currently ranked as the third best starting pitcher in fantasy baseball, and is still only rostered in just a quarter of leagues. After a rough first outing in which he only pitched 1.2 innings and gave up a run, Mahle has quickly turned it around, giving up just one run in his next three games, all of which ended in three straight wins for Mahle. In his most recent start against the Angels, Mahle threw nine strikeouts and gave up just three hits in six innings pitched. Mahle is just sitting like a duck on a pond in free agency right now, so pick him up.
Zach McKinstry- SS (25.7%)
McKinstry is a bit of a swiss army knife for the Tigers, as he is listed in fantasy as being able to play shortstop, third base and also outfield. McKinstry isn't much of a power hitter at all and he has just one home run so far this season. What he is good at though is getting on base. He can easily smack singles and draw walks, which are practically easy fantasy points for your team. Just like Mahle, McKinstry is only rostered in 25% of leagues, which means he is probably available in yours.
Mike Yastrzemski- OF (17.1%)
Yastrzemski has been just great for the Giants through about an eighth of the season. He is batting .302 with five doubles so far, with three homers and 11 RBIs to accompany it. Yastrzemski has also been really good at just getting on base, as his .439 OBP and .566 slugging percentage puts him at just above a 1.000 OPS, with a 1.005 OPS. This remains one of the best in baseball so far, and with being rostered in as little leagues as he is, Yastrzemski is going to be a great pickup.
Jonathan Aranda- 1B (16.8%)
You know how we said that Mike Yastrzemski and Spencer Torkelson have been some of the best hitters in baseball this season? Well Jonothan Aranda has been just as good if not better than both of those guys. With some unbelievable batting splits of .377/.443/.679, this puts Aranda with an OPS way above Yastrzemski's, with a 1.122 OPS. That puts him at third in the entire MLB, sitting just behind Aaron Judge and Pete Alonso. If there were any guy that we would say is a must pick-up on this list, it is Jonathan Aranda.
