Waiver Wire Pickups: Fantasy Baseball Edition- Week of 4/8

We are going to be bringing back a popular series from last season, and that is the waiver wire ads of the week. We will be going through five players who aren't rostered in a ton of leagues, but are playing super good right now that you need to pick up, before it gets too late. So, let's get right into it
Kris Bubic- SP (48.7%)
Kris Bubic has been one of the most surprising pitchers in baseball so far this season with two outstanding performances. For some reason, Bubic is listed as a relief pitcher, but his two appearances so far this season have both been starts. In his most recent performance on April 6th, he threw 6.2 innings, giving up five hits and one run while striking out eight. Bubic has shown he can be a maestro with the strikeouts, piling up 16 in his first two starts. Already, his rostered percentage has moved up from 7% to nearly 50%, so you have to grab him quick.
Nick Lodolo- SP (38.9%)
Nick Lodolo has shown he can be a top fantasy pitcher this year with two good outings so far. Lodolo has shown that his consistency can be a great asset for him, as he hasn't had any breakout performances yet, but also hasn't shown to struggle at all either. He is currently fourth in the Reds rotation, but could move up here soon with more good outings. As we are writing this, Lodolo had another great performance last night. He pitched six innings, giving up three hits and no runs. He's not quite as good at getting strikeouts as Bubic is, but is great at just getting people out.
Ben Rice- 1B (21.0%)
Ben Rice has quietly been one of the best first basemen in baseball this year, and no one is talking about it. So far this season, he's batting .323/.447/.645 with two home runs and two RBIs. Rice has been mostly playing DH for the Yankees with Paul Goldschmidt mostly taking up the 1B spot, but he has been excelling so far in the designated hitter position, so pick him up quick.
Kyren Paris- 2B (18.7%)
Kyren Paris has been the best fantasy second basemen so far this season, and still he is only rostered in about 20% of leagues. He is batting .429 this season with three home runs, six RBIs and a triple with nine hits as well. Paris has been playing almost every game for the Angels so far as he's only missed one game so far. What I think is the most impressive thing is how far this guy has flown under the radar, with almost no one picking him up.
Carson Kelly- C (22.3%)
Carson Kelly, just like Paris, is the best at his position so far. Kelly is the best fantasy catcher at this point in the season and he is a huge part of what the Cubs are doing right now. In his first year as a starting catcher for the Cubs, Kelly has two home runs and 10 RBIs, along with a .333 batting average. Kelly is the best catcher while only playing about half the games, which could be seen as a weakness for him. Still, I would pick Kelly up because of his pure dominance at the plate this season.
