Why hasn't anyone taken notice to Andrew Abbott yet?

A lot of people may have not heard of the name Andrew Abbott, but he has been lighting it up these last couple of weeks. He has consistently been one of the best pitchers in baseball, but no one seems to have noticed. We might even go as far as to say that he has been a top two pitcher in the National League in the past month or so. In this article, we are going to be making the case for Andrew Abbott to not only become an All-Star, but be the National League starting pitcher in the All-Star Game.
So far this season, Andrew Abbott has a 6-1 record, a 1.84 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, and 69 strikeouts in 68.1 innings pitched. Abbott has been a big piece of this Cincinnati Reds turnaround that we are seeing right now, as they have won 9 out of their last twelve games and have taken control of the second place in the NL Central. With Hunter Greene being on and off the injured list with his groin injury, Abbott has stepped up for the Reds and has proved that he can be the ace on a winning team.
As for being an All-Star starter, he has a lot of competition. For starters, there are Paul Skenes and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, both of which are at the top of the odds as of now. Skenes is leading the division rival Pirates, and has overall played better than Abbott this season, with the exception of their records. The Pirates have left Paul Skenes to do all of the work by himself, and because of that a one run outing is a loss for Skenes. As for Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Abbott has a lower ERA, WHIP, and a better record than him. Granted, he also has almost thirty less innings pitched than Yamamoto. Even though it sounds absurd, Andrew Abbott is the second best pitcher in the National League as of now.
Overall, it seems like Andrew Abbott easily deserves this All-Star nomination for the Reds, but we don't think he deserves the starter nod over Paul Skenes quite yet. We wrote this article so people could take notice of just how good Andrew Abbott has been this season and that he can get the recognition that he deserves. If he does end up getting that starter position, we wouldn't be surprised in the slightest because he has been definitely good enough this season to earn it.
