Why you should pick up Jakob Marsee right now

08/20/2025

There is this new kid on the block for the Marlins that nobody has heard of, but you need to pick him up right now before playoff time comes around. His name? Jakob Marsee. The young player from the Miami Marlins has been about as dominant as a player can be after getting called up. Still only rostered in 60% of leagues and rising quickly, now is the time to pick up Jakob Marsee- before its too late.

So far this season in 53 at bats, Marsee has 20 hits, four home runs, nine runs scored, 15 RBIs, and six stolen bases. To put this in perspective, he only has played 17 games this season, so a 162 game average of those statistics would convert to 190 hits, 38 home runs, 143 RBIs, 84 runs scored, and 56 stolen bases. Yes, it is very likely that he doesn't keep these stats up for a 162 game season, but either way Jakob Marsee is going to be a stud.

We showed you the up front stats, now it's time to compare him to the rest of the MLB. Marsee is over 200 points better than league average in wOBA, which is an on base percentage that factors how a player reaches base. The MLB average is sitting at .314, whereas Marsee has an incredible .514 wOBA, which shows he isn't just getting on base with walks and singles, he is crushing the ball. For example, Marsee's wOBA is nearly 100 points better than the NL MVP frontrunner, Shohei Ohtani.

Another perspective on how insane this run by Jakob Marsee has been since being called up on August 1st, we calculated Marsee's WAR of 1.3 in 17 games and adjusted it to a 162 game season, he would have a 12.3 WAR, which would put him at FIFTH ALL TIME. What Jakob Marsee is doing right now isn't just some sort of linsanity run that players have from time to time, this is a sign of things to come. Don't be surprised that in five years, Jakob Marsee has multiple All-Stars and is in MVP talks.
